Le Mas
de Salel
The
Mas de Salel is situated in the natural park of the 'grands causses’
the big plateaux in South of France, 93 km north-west of Montpellier.
Since the 18th century this ancient farm was utilized to produce
the milk for the famous Roquefort cheese. Already in the 12th century
the Mas de Salel was mentioned as annex of the well known Sylvanès
abbey, nowadays outstanding in its liturgics chorals and cultural
summer festivals.
